So last week my doctor decided to spring something new on me.
Well first I'll just explain that my doctor's office changes doctor's often and I've seen my current one twice now, first to get me a renewal of my medical benefit and also to organize my vitamin D supplements (I found out recently that my levels are pretty low) he then wanted to see me in a months time to check how things were going. We got to talk a bit more about my condition (I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, though over the last year I have also gotten pains (Mostly in my legs)) My doctor has knowledge about chronic fatigue unlike most doctors I have seen and he has decided that he is going to change my diet and put me on probiotic tablets.
My Doctor thinks I might be sensitive to certain kinds of food (Not as extreme as allergic though) and now I have to stop eating gluten and dairy products for a month to see how I do, but this change might very well be permanent. I never realized before how much food actually has gluten and dairy before and so many foods I have loved I can no longer eat. There are some alternatives to somethings but it is definitely going to make it hard to eat out and stuff. Not to mention my brother and sister have to change the way they cook for me.
Thankfully in the last year my sister and I made friends with a guy that is actually allergic to gluten and dairy so he has been giving me some pro tips.
But yeah, I'm not sure whether to be hopeful or not about this diet, on one hand I might get better and on the other I have to give up a lot of food I've loved.
